Copper-plated steel strand is a new type of polymer material made of high-quality high-carbon steel. In the fields of power engineering, telecommunications, petrochemical and other fields, it is often used as an electrical conductor for grounding devices.
It combines the compressive strength and ductility of steel with the electrical conductivity, weldability and corrosion resistance of copper. Especially when the surge current is large, the skin effect expands with the expansion of the current intensity, so the conductivity of the electroplated copper stranded wire can be compared with the concentric wire of the same cross section. It has the advantages of light weight, copper saving, and low cost of copper-plated steel strands, and is a substitute for the existing concentric wires.
The copper-plated steel strand manufacturer adopts the horizontal continuous casting production process, which is domestic. The continuous casting process adopts the method of heating electrolytic copper to 1200oC to form an alloyed over-coated layer on the copper junction surface, and the bimetal interface is firmly bonded, so as to realize the ductile metallurgical fusion between copper and steel, and become a single composite, which can be drawn like a single composite. The metal can be drawn arbitrarily without any disjointness, warping and cracking.
The surface layer of the copper-clad steel strand is oxygen-free copper, which has good electrical conductivity, and the inner layer is carbon steel. The skin effect principle conducts electricity and has excellent magnetic conductivity. The resistance is much lower than that of conventional materials such as steel and galvanized steel. The surface layer is oxygen-free copper.
